I have often wondered what a 'One Sheet Wonder' meant, so after doing a little research of my own I discovered how fun it is to make cards (and other projects) using one sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP).
So here is my very first One Sheet Wonder
This is my first sketch I made on a chipboard from a DSP package. I was trying to create cuts that were not all squares or rectangles so I included a few diamonds and tags in my sketch. However, I quickly discovered that it wasn't going to be so easy cutting out this sketch, so this is what I ended up with
When I started to cut the 12"x12" DSP, I end up with these cuts and I thought 'OK, I can work with this'.
In addition to the ONE DSP, I used two Real Red, two Old Olive and two Smoky Slate card stock and one Whisper White as well as the Whisper White card based.
I couldn't believe I was able to make 17 cards. However, because I wanted to make one card using the Festive Flower Builder punch to make a poinsettia flower card, I used a little bit more Smoky Slate and Real Red card stock for a total of 18 cards. I know that you are really suppose to use only one stamp set to make all the cards but I used two. I used the 'Reason for the Season' stamp set only for the poinsettia card.
I had so much fun making these cards that I decide to offer a 'One Sheet Wonder' class. It turned out great and they were amazed at how many they could make using one 12"x12" DSP in a short amount of time.
Here are individual pictures of my cards so you can see them better;
