Flybabies August Card Challenge

Hello Stampers,

The August theme for the SCS Flybabies challenge is 'August Nights' so this is what I came up with.
Since it is so hot here I thought I'd make a card that would reflect a little bit of the sun and of course butterflies. I really like this card because although it is a single layer card, it still packs a punch.

This is my second card. It's called the 'Bendi Fold Card' and I learned how to make it from the 'Stamping with Bibiana' blog site. It's an easy card to made, however the hardest part about this card is deciding how to decorate it.

I love the way it bends and then when you open it up you get a nice surprise, like a panoramic picture.
I used the tree from the 'Take Care' stamp set for the tree on the left. The outside bike is from the 'Cycle Celebration' stamp set and the bike inside is from one of the 'Paper Pumpkin' kits. The tree on the inside is a combination of the 'Take Care' and 'Thoughts & Prayers' stamp sets. I used the tree trunk from 'Take Care' and the top part of the tree is from 'Thoughts & Prayers'. I used the 1" and 3/4" circle punches to make the tire swing and Bakers' Twine. The grass is a non-SU punch as is the fence. The flowers were made using the the flower from the 'Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack'

Because I loved making this card so much, I made a second one.

This is my beach scene Bendi Fold card. Since I didn't have a palm tree stamp or punch, I made one. I used the tree trunk from  the 'Take Care' stamp set and the palm branches were stamped using the 'Fine Feathers' stamp set (one of the small feathers). I just cut out come notches and stamped on both sides of the card stock so I can turn them both ways. The car, surf board and basket come from the 'Road to Happiness' stamp set. I cut our a small piece of DSP from the 'Gingham Garden' Designer Series paper. The clouds were made using a non-SU cloud punch. The sand and ocean were done using Classic Stampin' Ink Pads and sponges.

Well, that's my cards for this month's challenge. I hope you like them.
